Even though Facebook Fan Pages are getting more popular and are the topic of everybody’s conversation online, Facebook Groups have their benefits and purpose.
While Facebook Fan Pages give you more options such as:
- you can subscribe via SMS
- embed into a web page
- update via Twitter (Facebook Update -> Twitter… not the other way around)
- they are publicly available (open to the public)
- and some other things…
Facebook Groups serve a different purpose from that of Facebook Fan Pages.
- they are closed to the public (only Facebook members can join and view the Group)
- great way to bring together a small group/community of people, fast
- and many other benefits…
but post is not about the benefits of Facebook Pages and Facebook Groups, rather about how to manage a facebook group.
Alison Driscoll @ mashable has put together a nice post about how to manage a Facebook Group. Go read it if you are thinking about starting or better managing a Facebook Group.
