Do You Use These 4 Viral Marketing Strategies?

by Narek Gabrielian on June 29, 2009 in Internet Marketing

Viral Marketing is allowing people to giveaway and use your free product or service in order to multiply your marketing quickly over the internet. The idea behind viral marketing is that you include your ad with the freebie people giveaway or use. Below are ten high impact viral marketing strategies:

1. Give people the ability to reprint your articles on their own website, in their electronic newsletter, in their e-zine, eBook, etc. However, they only can do this with only one condition… if they include your resource box and the option for article reprints at the end of each article. Doing this will insure that the people who read the reprinted article will be able to reprint it themselves and find out a little bit about the author of the article.

Q: What is a resource box?

A: Resource box is a snippet of text at the end of an article that let’s the reader know about the author of the article and the original source of the article. Usually, article authors put a link to the original article in the resource box.

2. Give people the right to give away your freebies as free bonuses for products or services they sell. However, they can do this with one condition… if they do not make any changes to the freebie and pass it on just the way it is.

In addition to having a link, ad or special promotion, you can include Giveaway Rights document within the freebie. As a result, whoever gets this freebie will be automatically granted the giveaway rights and will be able to start giving the freebie away just after minutes of getting it.

Q: What are Giveaway Rights?

A: Giveaway rights simply give you the right to give away, in this case a freebie, freely to whoever desires to have it.

3. Allow people to sign up for a free website on your server. Since you are giving away the sapace, require them to include your banner ad at the top of the site. Of couse, there are many ways this can be done. Use your creativity to apply this tip to your business by adjasting it to get the maximum results.

Note: If you want that “virality,” give plenty of space (I don’t mean server space). Don’t “choke” them with your ads, banners, links, and varous promotions on the free website that they signed up. Make them feel an owner, not a guest.

4. Let people provide your free online service or tool to thier website visitors or e-zine subscribers.

This can be a niche/industry-specific tool that you develop and provide in the form of a widget. The tool has to be helpfull and provide value by solving an existing problem or making a previously complicated process very easy. In addition, provide a copy-n-paste ready code that someone can copy and paste into the code of their website to implement it within minutes.

And one more thing… don’t forget to put a link back to your website or a tool-related promotion.
